Housekeeping

Homemakers/housekeepers help with light housework, cleaning, laundry, taking out the trash, and preparing meals. This service also includes running errands for you, such as going to the drycleaners, the bank, the post office, the pharmacy, or getting groceries.

The care provider and client representative will develop and implement a schedule and general plan of care for the client by providing them assistance to attain or maintain safe and sanitary living conditions, including, but not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Dusting;
  • Cleaning floors, bathrooms, and windows (if necessary for safe and sanitary living conditions);
  • Cleaning kitchen, washing dishes, routine maintenance and cleaning of household appliances (including, but not limited to, oven and refrigerator);
  • Changing linens and making bed;
  • Washing, drying, and folding the member’s laundry (ironing if necessary);
  • Shopping for and storing household supplies and medicines;
  • Taking garbage out; and
  • Other duties as determined appropriate and necessary by the planning team.

Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (respectively “Title VI” and “Title VII”) and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, CJPS Home Care) prohibits discrimination in admissions, programs, services, activities or employment based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, and disability. CJPS Home Care must make a reasonable accommodation to allow a person with a disability to take part in a program, service, or activity. Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities. For example, this means that if necessary, CJPS Home Care must provide sign language interpreters for people who are deaf, a wheelchair accessible location, or enlarged print materials. It also means that CJPS Home Care will take any other reasonable action that allows you to take part in and understand a program or activity, including making reasonable changes to an activity.
